95% of Indian children attend primary school but barely 55% of them end up reaching higher secondary school. The most recent ASER report also shows that learning levels in Government- run primary schools are alarmingly low. This implies that almost half the children drop out after 8 years of elementary education, without acquiring minimum acceptable foundational skills.
SCF’s core area of expertise lies in remedial education where we deliver targeted academic support to weaker students to mainstream them and help rebuild their engagement in school. Furthermore, we take a holistic approach by impacting school climate, infrastructure, emotional wellbeing, extracurricular and sports.
Sneh Chhanv Foundation
SCF is dedicated to transforming lives of children who hail from the lower strata of the society. We work as an after-school support group to bridge the educational & moral gap between these children and their affluent peers.
Further, we are trying to utilize already available resources for this purpose. So our lessons take place in community parks and halls.
We believe that when we reimagine learning for our students, we can pull their entire families out of poverty and address several allied Sustainable Development Goals. SCF school sets rigorous learning standards to maximise student potential; creating a nurturing environment for children to excel in academics. The multidisciplinary curriculum is reflected in the daily timetable with subjects ranging from Information and Computer Technology, Integration of the Arts in Mathematics and Science to Music, Physical Education (PE) & Sports to even Library/Reading. Above all, all SCF school ensures the inclusion of technology and use of digital learning techniques in the day-to-day activities of the classroom. With extended school closures, we are investing in digital tablets for students to learn remotely through daily virtual classes. The long term vision for our school is to enable blended, or hybrid learning where students can both learn online and attend physical in-person classes.
